Salese™ is a slow dissolving soft lozenge that delivers essential oils and other beneficial ingredients to improve oral hygiene for dry mouth sufferers. The minty taste and fresh-mouth sensation last for a prolonged period of time – up to several hours.

Salese is a sustained release product that delivers active ingredients efficiently and continuously in small doses — up to 1,000 times less than conventional mouthwash. The extended contact with beneficial agents increases both the oral hygiene benefits and the fresh mouth-feel essential to those suffering from Dry Mouth. Patients require less product during the course of a day and derive greater benefits, with no exposure to highly concentrated ingredients.

More effective than sprays, mouthwash and gum, Salese is easy to use and convenient to carry. Salese impedes biofilm to clean teeth and kills the bacteria that cause bad breath. Salese is sugar and alcohol free — less than 1 calorie — and helps maintain a healthy pH balance in the mouth. Salese also contains Xylitol.

For the longest lasting effect, Salese lozenges should be allowed to dissolve fully in the mouth without biting or chewing. Patients with extremely dry mouth should take Salese with a sip of water to help activate the natural ingredients. Salese is safe to swallow.

Patients with dry mouth may experience a variety of symptoms: less saliva than they once had, difficulty swallowing, problems eating dry foods such as toast or crackers, pain inside the mouth, and a dry feeling in the mouth at meals and other times.

Dry mouth symptoms can be an indicator of an underlying diseases such as Diabetes or Sjögrens syndrome, or may be caused as a side-effect of many medications and medical treatments. Dry mouth is also associated with allergies, forced air heating and air conditioning.

Whatever the cause, patients with dry mouth experience discomfort to varying degrees, and may have difficulty chewing, tasting or swallowing food. On occasion, they may also find it becomes difficult to speak.

Saliva limits the growth of bacteria that cause tooth decay, bad breath and other oral health problems. Saliva also lubricates the mouth and makes chewing and swallowing easier and helps digest food. Patients who lack adequate saliva are at higher risk for tooth decay and oral infections because they lack this important natural defense.

It is important to note that the lozenges should NOT be chewed or bitten, otherwise the long lasting effect will be lost. Salese is safe to swallow since the level of ingredients are in general much, much smaller than in conventional products. For example, the ingredients in Salese are a thousand times less concentrated than in the leading brand. However, since they are released for more than one hour (as compared to less than 30 seconds for the leading brand) they have a much longer contact time. Patients with extremely dry mouth should take Salese with a sip of water to help activate the natural ingredients.

Xanthan gum: A natural polymer with a "slippery, saliva feel" when it makes contact with the oral mucosa. Salese's slow release technology maintains this moist mouth-feel for prolonged periods.

Essential oils: Bacteria in the mouth combine with muco-polysaccharides to form biofilm. As biofilm continues to grow in a layering fashion, it gets thicker and hardens to form plaque. Salese's essential oils kill bacteria and impedes biofilm. The essential oils in Salese are the same as those used in the leading brand, but without the alcohol that typically causes burning and stinging sensations. So, Salese also tastes better. The essential oils are: peppermint, eucalyptol, thymol and wintergreen.

Xylitol: Salese also contains Xylitol - a powerful inhibitor of bacterial growth. Other mouthwash and spray products offer a short duration of contact with Xylitol, with only a momentary effect on bacteria. Salese delivers Xylitol over a long period of time.

Sodium Bicarbonate: Salese also contains Sodium Bicarbonate which brings the pH balance of the mouth back to neutral and helps prevent demineralization.

Zinc: Zinc neutralizes the sulfur containing compounds that causes bad breath. The basis of the polymer lozenge is cellulose.

Note: For those with very dry mouth conditions it is recommended that Salese be taken with a sip of water to activate the lozenge.
